SPONSOR A SHELTER PET

This program was started when Forgotten Animals Rescue, Inc. opened it's doors to help animals still in the county kill shelters. While we can't always take animals in to our rescue because of space and lack of fosters, this allows us to still try to help the ones we can't take in.

How It Works

The money collected for sponsorships are placed on an animal in need at one of the county shelters. The animal is chosen most of the time by the shelter , a volunteer at the shelter or by us. They may be injured, handicap or their time may be up.

The amount ranges but the average sponsorship is $ 100 per animal. This sponsorship is paid to the rescue who is able to take this animal out of the shelter, put into foster and help this animal find a new home. Since rescues are in need of funds to help homeless animals, this money helps the rescue to provide shots, spay or neuter the animal, help with medical if injured or sick, or go for transport to an out of state rescue. Once the animal is chosen and the sponsorship is placed, we then network to rescues in GA and surrounding states, that this animal has a sponsor and is in need of rescue!

Any amount you can donate will help! Donations are taken and for every $ 100 we collect, a dog or cat will

be sponsored.

2006- We were able to help on several occasions and provided:

Vaccines for one of the shelters in North GA. to vaccinate dogs leaving and going to rescue

Every year thousands of companion animals are needlessly put to sleep. There are just not enough homes for them all and not enough rescues to take them. Behind every animal at a kill shelter, somewhere along the line, a human is responsible for them being there.
